I spent the first 10 years of my career analysing, managing, co-ordinating multi channel marketing campaigns for 8 figure B2C and B2B brands. 

In January 2022 I created Matt Barker Copy, my one person writing business. I’ve ghostwritten & consulted on the personal profiles of CEOs, Founders and Consultants of 6 & 7 figure companies, helping them drive over $2,000,000 in new revenue via organic content, as well as over 10,000,000 impressions and 75,000 new followers combined.

I’ve launched and scaled two digital products to 6 figures both within 12 months - 30 Days of LinkedIn Content and The Digital Copywriter. 

Currently building Copy Builders, a community of solopreneurs, agency owners and founders who want to drive 3-5 inbound leads per month using organic content.

How do you get ideas for content?

I don’t believe in following trends. I always teach my students and clients to take content ideas from within their business. That way, you’re always talking about things that matter, to the people who pay you.

Can I really sell on social media?

Yes, you absolutely can. But this is where the art of copywriting comes in. You’ll need to understand the psychology of your audience to create interest and desire in your offers.

Have you ever used paid ads?

No, I have never used paid ads. I’ve gotten all my client’s and my personal results 100% organically. But paid ads ARE a great idea once you have validated via organic content first.

How did you get started posting content?

I got started by being very bad for several months and sticking with it. I done things in my control - write, post, show up, improve - and let external factors do what they do.

Does what you teach only apply to LinkedIn?

No. Copywriting applies to literally every area of your business - cold emails, websites, ads, video scripts, pitch decks, company communications, networking etc. For example, a friend of mine told me he uses my content to write more attention grabbing emails in his 9-5 job.
